“From Fracture Mechanics to Femurs: My path in orthopedics”
Dr. Creel will be speaking about the path he has taken as an undergraduate engineering student, through graduate school, and into industry. He will address how his undergraduate major in materials engineering translated into a biomedical engineering Ph.D. and how the skills he learned in his academic pursuits have translated to the workforce.
Dr. Creel received a B.S. in Materials Engineering at Cal Poly, and then completed his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis (2007). Since that time, Dr. Creel has worked in the areas of research and product development at Consensus Orthopedics in El Dorado Hills, CA, which focuses on total hip and knee replacements. Through his work, he has helped to manage several products through the development cycle from inception to design and delivery, while interfacing between engineers and surgeons
