Mariam  Maghribi  has  15  years  of  experience  in  the medical device and biotechnology analytics sectors and has  held  a  variety  of  positions  in  R&D,  commercial operations, strategy, and  business development. Currently,  Mariam  is  the  Vice  President  of  Business Development at Shifamed, a Bay Area medical technology incubator. Prior to Shifamed, Mariam was Chief  Operating  Officer  for  deltaDOT  QSTP-LLC,  a biotechnology analytics start-up based in Doha, Qatar. Prior to deltaDOT, Mariam was Principle Engineer at Johnson & Johnson, where she co-founded JJ MeMs, an  early  stage  medical  microsystems  incubator  that enabled new technology    development and the generation of a strategic intellectual property portfolio. Prior to J&J, Mariam was a Research Scientist at the Center  for  Micro  and  Nano  Technology  at  Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories where she generated an  extensive  intellectual  property  portfolio  in  polymer microfabrication for the Department of Energy’s Retinal Prosthesis Project.  She is an inventor on 22 issued US patents  and  36  pending  applications  in  the  areas  of bioelectrical stimulation and polymer microfabrication for retinal  prostheses, biosensors, microfluidics drug delivery, biodegradable scaffolds, and wound healing. Mariam holds a B.S. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Biomedical engineering from the University of California, Davis. She also earned dual MBA degrees from Columbia Business School and the University of  California,  Berkeley’s  Haas  School  of Business.
