The Department of Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis invites applications for an Assistant Professor level position. The Department has 33 faculty members and is ranked 7th in the nation and 2nd in California in annual research expenditures (NSF rankings). The Department has existing strengths in the areas of tissue engineering, cellular and molecular engineering, biomechanics, biomedical imaging, micro/nano systems, therapeutics, and computational/systems biology. While all areas of expertise will be considered, candidates with a background in immuno-engineering are preferred along with the ability to contribute to and benefit from existing research strengths within the Department. In addition, the research program of a successful candidate is expected to integrate various campus strengths (e.g., of the School of Medicine, the College of Biological Sciences, and the School of Veterinary Medicine).
