Position Description: Serve as a Junior Specialist that provides direct support for PI and members of the PI’s laboratory for various research activities including bacterial and mammalian cell culture, protein purification and analysis, carbohydrate purification and analysis, bioconjugation, biochemical and immunological assays, immunocytochemistry and, animal handling and testing. Additionally, the Junior Specialist will be expected to perform various lab activities related to research grants (NIH, NSF, etc), preparation and submission of IACUC animal protocols, safety protocols, website updates, and editorial and administrative activities.
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required in Microbiology preferred or other related areas, including Molecular Biology and Immunology. Excellent organizational skills to help Principal Investigator manage laboratory research operations including management of IACUC animal protocols, monitoring of safety in the laboratory, coordinating experiments involving multiple collaborators. Understanding of the field of Immuno-engineering, and excellent interpersonal skills both orally and in writing are a must. The candidate should be able to work in a diverse setting of researchers and students. Excellent attention to detail required and refined writing skills are required. Willingness to learn BME OPS (On-line Purchasing System) for research project orders and on-line processes for submission of IACUC or other protocols.
Salary: $37,000/ annually + Benefits
