Laura Laura Marcu has been elected SPIE Fellow in recognition of her contributions to the area of biomedical optics. She  will receive her award at Photonics West meeting in San Francisco in January.  SPIE is the international society for optics and photonics founded in 1955 to advance light-based technologies. Serving approximately 180,000 constituents from more than 170 countries, the Society advances emerging technologies through interdisciplinary information exchange, continuing education, publications, patent precedent, and career and professional growth.
