Position Description: Serve as Jr. Specialist to Principal Investigator (PI) in support of multiple research grant awards, programs and activities. Provide direct support for PI and members of the PI’s laboratory for various research activities focused on advancements in biophotonics technology. The Jr. Specialist will work with multiple collaborators to provide high-level support to the primary PI for study collaborations, coordinating and scheduling of activities; calendaring projects w/due dates; direct support for PI lab activities related to various research grants (NIH, CIRM, etc), preparation and submission of IACUC animal protocols, safety protocols, website updates, and editorial and administrative activities.

Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required in Biomedical Engineering preferred or other areas, including electrical engineering, computer science, and business management. Excellent organizational skills to help Principal Investigator manage laboratory research operations including management of IACUC animal protocols, monitoring of safety in the laboratory, scheduling experiments involving multiple collaborators. Understanding of the field of biomedical engineering and excellent interpersonal skills both orally and in writing are a must. The candidate should be able to work in a diverse setting of researchers and students. Excellent attention to detail required and refined writing skills are required. Willingness to learn BME OPS (On-line Purchasing System) for research project orders and on-line processes for submission of IACUC or other protocols.

Salary: $3,036.00-$3,238.00/monthly ($36,432 – $38,856) + Benefits
