Description: A postdoctoral research position is open for applicants with strong expertise and experience in image and signal processing. The candidate responsibilities include implementation of software (data analysis, display, and visualization) and hardware (data/image acquisition) supporting a broad range of projects including image-guided surgery and other interventions (e.g. integration of optical technologies with da Vinci surgical robot for intra-operative real-time delineation of surgical margins, intravascular multimodal imaging systems, nondestructive methods for evaluation of engineered tissues constructs or grafts) and augmented reality. The successful candidates will work on National Institutes of Health (NIH) and California Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) funded multidisciplinary projects focused on research, development and clinical translation of optical techniques and high frequency ultrasound technologies for in-vivo diagnosis and therapy of human diseases. This is an opportunity to work in the Biophotonics Laboratory (http://marculab.bme.ucdavis.edu/) at the University of California Davis (Department of Biomedical Engineering) and in collaboration with clinical departments within the UC Davis School of Medicine and industry partners. The initial appointment is for two years with potential for extension depending upon performance.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree and strong background in classical signal and image processing, data visualization, statistical methods, statistical learning, and classification models. Proficiency in coding using MATLAB and C++ is needed. Interested applicants should submit via e-mail a complete curriculum vitae, the contact information for three references, and a copy of one or two publication from previous research to:
