You are cordially invited to attend the formal opening of the TEAM Design, Prototyping, and Fabrication Facilities. We will celebrate with tours, demos and more. TEAM’s objective is to accelerate implementation and commercialization of freshly developed technologies by providing state-of-the-art facilities for students and faculty to realize their designs as working prototypes. Available to both researchers and regional businesses to solve medical and biological problems via engineering approaches, TEAM’s ~2,300 sq. ft. facilities create highly intricate prototypes with complex, moving parts and electronics. A Design and Prototyping Space features many of the industry’s most advanced technologies such as 3D scanning and printing, printed circuit board manufacturing, laser machining, and software. A traditional Metalworking Fabrication Shop offers advanced CNC mill, lathe, and other metalworking equipment. TEAM’s Molecular Prototyping Lab is the first of its kind in using synthetic biology to create biological devices and systems and also hybrid devices. With personnel experienced in design education, prototyping, and technology transfer, TEAM offers almost everything needed to take a concept from idea to application in the clinical setting.
