“Transitioning from Academia to the Medical Device Industry”

Dr. DeVerse received his B.S. in Biosystems Engineering at the University of Arizona in 2007 and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis in 2013.

After completing his PhD he briefly worked as a post-doctorate researcher in Professor Passerini’s lab at UC Davis before working for W.L. Gore and Associates in the Medical Products Division, where he has been for the past 2.5 years.

Dr. DeVerse is currently a Quality Engineer on a new product development team working on a next-generation endovascular device to treat Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms.

His talk will focus on key learnings in graduate school and how he transitioned from academia to the medical device industry.
